ABOUT

What will my First WIC Appointment be like?

  • Household income will be screened.
  • Applicants will be weighed, measured, and screened for iron status. A medical health and diet history will be obtained.
  • Applicants will be offered nutrition counseling that meets your family's interests or concerns and referrals to other services.
  • Nutrition information will be assessed, program eligibility will be determined, and food benefits will be provided to those eligible.

If you have any questions about the information above, or have a special situation, call or go by the clinic before your appointment so the staff may assist you. Not bringing in all the documentation at the time of your appointment may delay eligibility determination and benefits.
