FAQ: Classes on TexasWIC.org

What do I need to do to complete my WIC class?

Click on "WIC class" select the class you would like to complete and follow the instructions. At the end of the class you will see a certificate - print and bring your certificate to your next WIC appointment to get credit for attending.

What if I don't have a printer available?

If a printer is unavailable write down the name of the class, the certificate number and the date and time you completed the class and bring that to your WIC appointment.

How many classes do I need to complete to get credit for attending my WIC class?

To get credit you only need to complete 1 class prior to your class appointment. (Each class certificate is valid for 3 months. If your class certificate is older than 3 months you may be asked to complete an additional class.)

Do I need to complete a specific class?

No. You may complete any class that interests you.

Can I complete more than one class?

Yes. However, each class certificate is only valid for 3 months. If your class certificate is older than 3 months your WIC office may ask you to complete an additional class.

Can you email me a copy of my certificate?

No. Our current system does not email certificates. If you login using your email address you will be able to see what classes you've completed and view and print past certificates.

What kind of information does TexasWIC.org collect about me?

TexasWIC.org uses cookies to track your progress through the classes.

  • It is deleted when you exit the class or close your browser.
  • It is not used to collect personal information.

If you login with your email address TexasWIC.org uses that to save your progress in the class and to save copies of your certificates. TexasWIC.org does not sell your address to anyone or use your email address to send you unsolicited emails.

What should I do if the web classes are not working properly?

The web lessons do not usually go down. However, if they are not working properly send an email to WICGeneral@dshs.state.tx.us and let us know that the site is not working. If you are unable to complete your class you will still be able to receive your WIC vouchers at your appointment. However, you may be asked to complete a self-paced lesson or participate in a class instead.
