Carne Guisada

  • 4 lean pork chops cut in cubes
  • ¼ white onion
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoon whole wheat flour
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon cumin
  • ½ can original RO*TEL tomatoes
  • 1 to 1 ½ cups water (depending on desired thickness of gravy)

Place pork chop cubes in a skillet with the white onions and salt and cover on medium heat. Covering the skillet allows steam. Sauté on medium heat until meat is slightly brown. Add garlic and cumin spices and sauté a little more. Then add flour. This will make the pork chops cube browner. Add RO*TEL tomatoes and water, and simmer for about 30 minutes on medium low.
